To The Window, To The Wall
The right window treatment can completely transform your space. It is one of the more cost-effective changes you can make to your home to define a new and updated look.
There are five things to keep in mind when choosing window treatments:
1 Think about function
This is dependent on the space that you will be putting the window treatments in. You should consider whether you need room-darkening or total blackout curtains, noise control or insulation.
2 Consider the room decor
Consider the current style of the room and select the colour or pattern that will fit into the style of the room.
3 Pick a style and length
Measure the length that will be required for your window. Consider enough panels to cover two times the width of the windows so that the panels will drape properly. There are tons of styles including grommet, pinch pleat, rod-pocket/back tab or tab top.
4 Layer on a sheer
Maintain some level of privacy with a sheer window treatment behind the rest of your drapery. It will allow for you to pull back the drapery and let in some more light with some coverage.
5 Choose your rods and finials
A double rod can allow for you to create a layered look for the window and provide additional style options.
