The Perseverant Magnolia
Magnolias are known for their large, beautiful flowers. The flower's symbolism can take on many forms including nobility, dignity, perseverance, and love. This is one of the reasons the flowers are often found in wedding bouquets - it is representative of purity and dignity of the bride.
There are various species of magnolia trees. Most commonly a white petals, other species can be found with pink, yellow, or purple flowers. The colours of the flowers even have particular meanings in petitioning goddesses in modern Paganism and Wicca.
I think the symbolism behind the magnolia flower is perfectly in tune with the Magnolia Silos in Waco, Texas. I recently visited the Magnolia Market while in Texas for a business seminar. For those of you who do not know about Magnolia, you can check out their website at magnolia.com.
The owners and founders, Joanna and Chip Gaines, created their company out of a dream scribbled on paper. Joanna's passion and Chip's encouragement made that dream into a reality. From the first Magnolia Market in 2003 to closing the market in order to focus on their family to deciding to reopen in May of 2014, Joanna's love and perserverance has, in my opinion, made their company flourish into the beautiful success it is today. I had the pleasure of visiting the Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas last week. Oh my, what an amazing experience it was!
I did not have the chance to take photos of the interior or the amazing products available in the market. However, make sure you check out their website (it's a home stagers dream) and revel in the beautiful exterior (like the floral wall... it truly was my greatest find)!
